As the New Year approaches, you may find yourself thinking over the past year and you may be counting your blessings or thinking about what you could have done differently. Whatever the case, it's important to start the New Year off on a positive, hope-filled note.

Just remember, you are inviting a very special guest to your house: The New Year. So treat your house the way you would a very important dignitary. This is a new year of your life so welcome it in a grand way!

The Chinese New Year of 2013 falls on the 10th of February 2013 and this is the 1st day of the lunar calendar. To invite the God of Wealth (Cai Shen), do it on an auspicious hours (from 1 a.m.  to 3 a.m. & 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on the fifth day called Po Woo Day. Those born in the year of Ox and Rooster are recommended to do the "Welcoming of God of Wealth Ritual" on February 14, 2013; while those born in the year of RatRabbitDragonHorse, Sheep and Dog are suggested to do the "Gain Helpful Friends Ritual" on every first day of the month to solemnly ask for helpful friends (in the form of mentors, friends, customers, and hired help)  to aid you.

NOTE: Those born in the year of Snake, Pig, Monkey and Tiger are not advisable to invite the God of Wealth into their house because they are in conflict with Tai Sui. But instead pacify Tai Sui or Grand Duke of Jupiter, in Chinese ritual known as "An Tai Sui" , meaning inviting Tai Sui into one's home for divine assistance. They have to do it on the 1st and 15th of every month (February 10, 2013 and February 24, 2013 for the first month) and so on and especially don't forget to give thanks at the end of the year (January 15, 2014 and January 30, 2014).
