Year 2013 is yin Water Fire Snake year



The Chinese Lunar New Year in 2013 will start on Sunday of February 10, 2013 and ends on Thursday of January 30, 2014. It is the Gui - Sì  4711th year (Water Snake)Gui (Yin water) is the tenth of the ten celestial stems and Sì (Snake) is the sixth of the twelve terrestrial branches and marks the year of the Snake.

2013 will be a water snake year according to the Chinese Calendar System. Cosmic element of the year is Water, color black.  The element Water is characterized with mobility, dynamism, and changeability. The Black Snake will bring people unexpected changes, instability, and changeability. That is why it is important in the year of the Snake to plan everything beforehand, and evaluate adequately before taking any actions. You need to be more careful and cautious than ever. 
The Chinese New Year of 2013 falls on the 10th of February 2013 and this is the 1st day of the lunar calendar. To invite the God of Wealth (Cai Shen), do it on an auspicious hours (from 1 a.m.  to 3 a.m. & 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on the fifth day called Po Woo Day.  Everybody can either go to a Chinese Temple and offers incense to the gods to seek blessings from them. Or for personal convenience, you can buy an image of Cai Shen.  In front of the wealth god, offer foods and incenses (at least three aromatic incenses) for the same supplication of blessings requests from the god.

Chinese New Year is the welcoming of the gods of the heavens and earth. Just remember, you are inviting a very special guest to your house: The New Year. So treat your house the way you would a very important dignitary. This is a new year of your life so welcome it in a grand way!
